Women have yet to advance their mindset to the 21st Century and I’ll Tell You Why

 In the 21^st Century women are still dependent upon men.

Women are still buying into the hype that they must get married and have babies they can’t afford to take care of especially if the baby’s daddies walk out on them.

Women still buy into the hype that they can’t exist without a man.

Women are still buying into the till death do us part as is evident that they stay with men who abuse them and their children through beatings and/or rape.

Women get married before obtaining skills allowing them to support themselves without the added salary of a man, welfare, food stamps and Section 8 forcing their children to grow up in poverty and horrible neighborhoods because they didn’t allow themselves to reach the age of maturity before getting married.

Women still marry men they settle for and not their life mates.

Women are still buying into a woman isn’t complete unless she has a man in her bed. And men know this and as long as women continue to give men power over them they will continue to remain under the thumbs of these men! For example, men still have the final say on women’s reproduction organs, how much pay they can earn in the job market, how far they can advance in corporate America, how much or how little alimony and child support they can receive, and even how to behave if they are the wife of a military officer or politician just to name a few professions. Some women are even told how to think and how to dress and they do as they are told.

I attended a party a few weeks ago and sat at a table with people I didn’t know. One woman invited another woman on an outing and the woman who was invited replied, I’ll have to ask my husband not I’ll have to see if my husband has something on the calendar for us to do. To me, this is not an adult relationship but a father daughter relationship.

Is there any wonder why women are slow in the climbing the corporate ladder? Women prove themselves weak, ineffective, dependent, and needy as long as they buy into the mindset of their mothers and grandmothers and great grandmothers.

As the President beats back lobbyists seeking to weaken Wall Street Reform, he talks about an even broader threat that would vastly expand the influence of massive industries and their lobbyists in Washington. A recent Supreme Court decision opened the floodgates for corporations, including foreign corporations, to spend endless money on political ads that would give them even more power at the expense of American families the President pledges to fight for reforms to stem that influence.

"Corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."

Recently there's been a lot of speculation about why the mood on the right has turned so sour. Some observers attribute it to the lack of leadership at the top of the Republican Party, the surreal reality that Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh have more influence than do elected Republicans. Others say it's a poisonous combination of economic angst and racial hatred. But there's a more obvious explanation: we're witnessing the death throes of conservatism. The right-wing ideology that ran the US for thirty years has proven to be a total failure and the passage of healthcare reform was the final nail in its coffin.

In case you've forgotten, classic conservatism promised to keep us safe, reduce the size of government, lower taxes, and manage the economy. Republican broke each of these commitments.

If you haven't stop spending your hard earned dollars with corporations that outsource jobs, then you're giving them an "atta boy"!

Americans can bring corporations to their knees simply by buying products from the Ma and Pa stores a/k/a small businesses.

Americans won't buy from Ma and Pa because they charge a little bit more. Does Ma and Pa charge more because it doesn't have the influx of clientele that the bigger Corporations have?

When will Americans take off the dunce cap and put on the thinkers cap?

When is the last time you checked your health provider's contract concerning your health care coverage?

What % do you receive for in-home care? At what point does it run out? Or are you even covered?

What % do you receive for post cancer care? At what point does it run out?

What % do you receive for post heart attack care? At what point does it run out?

What % do you receive for on-going MS, Lupus, any autoimmune illness care? At what point does it run out? Or are you even covered?

What % do you receive for HIV/AIDs care? Or are you even covered?

What % do you receive for problem pregnancy? At what point does it run out?

When is the last time you checked your health provider's contract concerning your health care coverage?

The republicans should be recognized for what they are: fallacious, underhanded, liars, cheats, thieves, deceivers, con artists, opportunists, etc. They have no intention of acting in the best interests of the people.

It's time for their enablers to come out of denial and accept the truth.

Republicans could care less about the people—they're only trying to save the corporations, lobbyists, organizations, etc., who are lining their pockets.

Protect Seniors mission is to pursue a legislative remedy for the court battle won by Corporate America and pass legislation which makes it illegal to take away retiree healthcare benefits from the retirees who EARNED them.

H.R. 1322. The Retiree Health Benefits Protection Act of 2009 was introduced into the 111th Congress on March 5th by Rep. John Tierney (D-MA). The bill was referred to the House Education and Labor Committee.

Specifically, this legislation will:

Prohibit group health plans from making post-retirement reductions in retiree benefits;
Require plans to adopt provisions barring post-retirement cuts in retiree health benefits;
Require employers to restore benefits reduced after retirement;
Provide an exemption for employers who are unable to restore benefits because they would experience substantial business hardship, as determined by the Secretary of Labor; and,
Create a loan guarantee program to assist employers in restoring retiree health benefits.

This is something that concerns everyone who expects to receive benefits after retirement.
