Women have yet to advance their mindset to the 21st Century and I’ll Tell You Why

 In the 21^st Century women are still dependent upon men.

Women are still buying into the hype that they must get married and have babies they can’t afford to take care of especially if the baby’s daddies walk out on them.

Women still buy into the hype that they can’t exist without a man.

Women are still buying into the till death do us part as is evident that they stay with men who abuse them and their children through beatings and/or rape.

Women get married before obtaining skills allowing them to support themselves without the added salary of a man, welfare, food stamps and Section 8 forcing their children to grow up in poverty and horrible neighborhoods because they didn’t allow themselves to reach the age of maturity before getting married.

Women still marry men they settle for and not their life mates.

Women are still buying into a woman isn’t complete unless she has a man in her bed. And men know this and as long as women continue to give men power over them they will continue to remain under the thumbs of these men! For example, men still have the final say on women’s reproduction organs, how much pay they can earn in the job market, how far they can advance in corporate America, how much or how little alimony and child support they can receive, and even how to behave if they are the wife of a military officer or politician just to name a few professions. Some women are even told how to think and how to dress and they do as they are told.

I attended a party a few weeks ago and sat at a table with people I didn’t know. One woman invited another woman on an outing and the woman who was invited replied, I’ll have to ask my husband not I’ll have to see if my husband has something on the calendar for us to do. To me, this is not an adult relationship but a father daughter relationship.

Is there any wonder why women are slow in the climbing the corporate ladder? Women prove themselves weak, ineffective, dependent, and needy as long as they buy into the mindset of their mothers and grandmothers and great grandmothers.

There are politicians who don't cheat on their wives, movie stars whose marriages don't end in divorce, and professional athletes who aren't womanizers, but a pro bodybuilder turned Hollywood star turned governor?

When I ask young people what makes them apprehensive about marriage, most cite the possibility of failure. The fact, at least drawing from my interaction with young adults, is that although they look forward to marriage, they are not really sure about what to look for in a marriage partner.

In fact, few look beyond the giddy love they feel for their girlfriend or boyfriend.

The word turns off a lot of men (insert snarky comment about man-hating feminazis here) -- and women. But here's why black men should be embracing the "f" word.

The Roman Catholic Church, as part of ongoing lawsuits, will make payments to approximately 700 male and female sexual and psychological abuse, molestation, and rape victims who were living in Alaska Native villages and Indian reservations from Montana to Washington, Idaho and Oregon, and who were “sexually or psychologically abused as children by Jesuit missionaries in those states in the 1940s through the 1990s,” according to a statement by attorneys.

How Jesus Treated People has been on my shelf collecting dust since the late 1980s. Each time I picked it up to read I felt dread because many books on religion is usually about recruiting and converting. You can imagine my surprise when I saw How Jesus Treated People would provide me with the ammunition I need to fight hell and damnation with fire and brimstone.

When have the handcuffs ever been ON POLICE?

I just want to know. From where I've lived all my life, Police could pretty much do whatever the hell they wanted to. So, there are places in America where they've been ' handcuffed'?

I call bull on this.

This is nothing but a straight up legalization of racial profiling.

I live in a city where there's a large illegal IRISH and POLISH population. Why do I get the feeling that if there was a similar law in my town, the folks arrested under it wouldn't be from those neighborhoods?

I was a trained den leader for my youngest son's Cub Scout troop. Then one day, I received a letter in the mail from the local council office telling me that I had to cut all ties with the BSA within the next 24 hours because someone had pointed out that on my personal homepage, I reveal that I am bisexual. And being gay and being "morally straight" are mutually exclusive in the minds of the BSA leadership. Fortunately for me, I had a Scout meeting that night.

Bill Donohue seemed very proud of the fact that most child molesting priests weren't actually pedophiles in his words, but only guilty of abusing children who had achieved puberty. Doesn't that make you feel better about the Catholic Church scandals? Facts are facts. And he was very concerned that the Pope had been libeled because he said there was no proof in the case in Wisconsin that the Pope knew anything.

You be the judge. Either Cardinal Bertrone is covering up for the Pope or Ratzinger just couldn't be bothered knowing the what was going on around him. That seems to be the story the Vatican is sticking with. Everywhere the Pope served he really didn't like to be bothered by the small stuff.

As archbishop, Benedict expended more energy pursuing theological dissidents than sexual predators. Already in the early 1980s, one could catch a glimpse of a future pope preoccupied with combating any movement away from church tradition. Vatican experts say there is little evidence that Benedict spent much time investigating more than 200 cases of "problem priests" in the diocese, with issues including alcohol abuse, adultery and, now under the microscope, pedophilia.

Bruce E. Levine: There are times when human beings can become so broken that truths of how they are being victimized do not set them free. This is certainly the case for many victims of parental and spousal abuse. They are not helped by people explaining to them that they are being battered, exploited, uncared about and disrespected. They know it already and somebody pointing it out is not helpful.

So, it seems to me that it is also possible that human beings can become so broken by the abuse of the corporate elite that they also are no longer set free by truth.
