The “Millennial Generation” (born post-1980, ages 18-30) is the largest, most racially and ethnically diverse generation the US has ever known. However, it is clear that race continues to play a role in their lives.

“Contrary to widespread labeling of the millennial generation as 'post-racial,' young people actually see a lot of racial problems. Many are concerned that race continues to impact outcomes in society, and they want to talk about it," said ARC President & Executive Director Rinku Sen. "What's more, the gap in perception between how white millennials and millennials of color see race points to continued racial conflict, demonstrating how important these conversations are."

Until questions can be asked between races without fear of being labeled racist there will be no millennial generation.

Not only that Kavika, people have to have the willingness to listen. I find those in power, and many more who are not in power, not wanting to listen because their way will always be the right way and the only way.

That is true Power, sadly an open mind is not that popular.

power and kavika they don't want an open discussion on purpose. it would dispel too many vested interests. i went back to school to receive my bachelors in 2004. i saw kkk and other white supremacist clothing being worn by students. at the junior college i went to get my academic skills rehoned caucasian students put leaflets on black students cars saying "get out of our school, you are bring it down" there are growing chapters (both in size and numbers) of council of conservative citizens chapters, i saw kkk license plates on vehicles in campbell, ca. they don't hire black males in numbers in silicon valley (i can take you into computer companies in which there is no or minimal black people in the building.

kappa, that is really sad, what the hell are they thinking in todays world. I am familar with the central valley of Ca. and all that it doesn't have to offer anyone of color. Of course the same situation exists in the northern states of Montana, Dakota's and Mn. for NA's.

Some people will never learn.
