Congressman Alan Grayson - People need SS and Medicare to LIVE! NO COMPROMISE! We need to strengthen Social Security and Medicare.

That needs to be repeated.

He'll be back!

Those who voted him out are probably licking their wounds.

From the Orlando Sentinel, July 11, 2011.

In 2010, Grayson lost his bid for re-election by 18 points to now-U.S. Rep. Dan Webster, R-Winter Garden, in a district that runs from Osceola though western Orange and eastern Lake counties to Marion County.

A major issue during that race was Grayson himself.

A prolific legislator with a knack for the sound bite, Grayson was best known for his stinging attacks on Republicans, including one jab during the health-care debate in which he said the GOP plan was for sick patients to “die quickly.”

In an interview, Grayson said he would keep the same approach.

“I’m not going to be changing my tune in 2012,” said Grayson, who added that he would keep his focus on helping the neediest.

Despite his loss to Webster, Grayson continues to enjoy backing from supporters nationwide. In the first three months of the year, Grayson raised $37,000 — outpacing Webster, who had just taken office — and he has cajoled his fans to keep giving in a series of emails during the spring.

Indeed, he made his announced his candidacy in an email blast Monday.

He IS back! And we need more just like him!

Well as one that says never say never, this makes him just as bad as the idiots from the GOP that say no to tax increases at any cost. I am a centrist and understand that if the deficit is to be brought under control everything must be on the table without exclusion. For example in regards to Medicare, it is not a program that should have an open checkbook, ie. my pet peeve Rascal Scooters and elective surgeries. Just my thought.

Blanket statements are usually self-serving and situations arise that changes the dynamic. Be that as it may, I have always liked this man and I believe in his good sense and know that if circumstances change he is capable of re-evaluating his position. At this time, with all of the stress and panic going on about it, it might just be expedient to calm fears. At one point he announced his intention to retire from congress, if he changed his mind, which I hope, it shows he has some flexibility. At this point in time, I trust his judgment until it proves to be untrustworthy.

I like Mr. Grayson. He may be bombastic, but he is a vocal champion for working class Americans and seniors. I wish him luck next year in getting his seat in congress back. I'm sure I will only be one of many Americans who will be donating to his campaign.

If we could elect 250 like him, we'd get something done in this country.

Ain't that the truth! Can you imagine having 250 congress men and women that have the best interest of the American working class and seniors in mind with every vote? Wow, unfortunately I can't fathom it.

Don't get me wrong, I think the world of number crunchers and him, but IMO that Presidents have to be more, well, just more of a politician to deal with all the ones that come to Congres...:)

Compromise is all well and good.....but there are some things that cannot and should not be compromised on.

I am sick and tired of voting for someone who says one thing and does another when it is detrimental to the working class citizens.

on that agreed, I'm getting the feedback that more of them are being a lot more careful about what they say, as in thinking about it first even here on the local level. Isn't Education a wonderful thing? All that TV about the Middle East and now people are waking up here in America because of that educational benefit..:)

I think the voters have since seen the error of their ways, in that "anger voting" is simply irrational, and doesnt work. The Baggers have brought us down. For any personal faults such as rough personality or proclivities, I think both Grayson, and Weiner will be back eventually. They both have solid knowledge of the issues in DC.

I believe some of them have seen the errors of voting out of anger but there are still far too many who haven't. Many of them believe having Tea Party representatives in Congress and the House give them permission to go out and hunt Native Americans and Blacks to kill.

True, but I have to believe that they must see that their way isn't really a movement, when it causes the opposite effect of gridlock. If we cease to exist as a (dying)empire, so too will the Baggers cease to be. We all go down together.

Yes. Why don't we give peace a chance? It is better then bombing some foreign nation 10,000 miles away that never attacked us. Eliminating the Pentagon and defense budgets and ending the wars could save us trillions.

Ex-Congressman Alan Grayson is Fl.'s only hope to stop the mad assault from the Repubs/Teapubs against the American middle-class and working class plus seniors Medicare and SS....

We need some one responsible back in Congress....JOBS, JOBS, JOBS,..... Repubs/Teapubs need not apply

Never forget the Repubs/teapubs are the Problem and never the Solution...Never...

      Rowdy,

I'd like to add a paraphrase from Jon Stewart 'the Republicans just lost Florida' in re: cuts to SS and Medicare.
