There are those who think that I am naive about racism or that I downplay it. The kinds of people who think so are often themselves accused, from other quarters, of being "stuck in the past," unable to admit that things truly change. Interestingly, I often feel that it's actually I who am stuck in the past.

Interesting article. Thanks.
In my lil ol hipbilly redneck socialist with tendencies towards anarchy and few redeeming social qualities opinion I believe that we are witnessing a major transformation in society. Considering this New Age of Robber Barons I tend to think that class trumps race as the issue we face.
It is high time that we honky working class heroes realize that our closest allies should be working class folk of color. Were we to drop back and punt on our ridiculous obsession with race and develop some degree of solidarity, well hell's bell's, we'd have some power to alter our reality maps, drive the lobbyists from the temple and perhaps get back all of our money, land and shyte stolen by the Bidness Kooks. And, just maybe, a damn job......
