"Without Sanctuary: Lynching Photography in America" was organized by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati. All images courtesy of the National Center for Civil & Human Rights in Atlanta. The exhibit previously toured the U.S.

#1 - Sun Jun 19, 2011 11:11 AM EDTPower, I've seen these photo's before. I choose not to look at them again, since it's very upsetting, painful and makes my stomach turn. I have no words that can describe my feeling.

Power, looking at these images and those of Wounded Knee, Sand Creek and the largest mass excution in U.S. history, (Mankato MN) of Native Americans, not only turns my stomach, but makes me very angry. I for one will never forget.

Shameful and disgusting. Many of us are/weretruly no better than the nazis we fought in WWII.
