Steven Heller is a respected name in graphic design. He's written, co-authored and edited more than 100 books on the topic. But a recent post from his 'Daily Heller' blog on the Print magazine website, Heller shows that he's not the most adept when it comes to race issues.

The Printmag.com post, which has already generated a minor @!$%# storm, is titled 'A Curious Similarity,' in which Heller describes the cramped conditions of flying in a commercial airplane with the interior design of a slave ship. He even provides visual evidence to illustrate his point.

The commenters have been all over Heller since the post went live yesterday. One named Hira even wrote: "Sorry, you trivialized it. That's like saying Auschwitz is like summer camp. Hey! They both had bunk beds!"

Well I suppose that you could say they look the same. Anyone with a bit of brain power would not have made that comparison. Other then the physical structure there is nothing that be compared. A train is long and narrow and carriers lot's of passengers, as does the subway...how about a bus.

What was he thinking!!!!

I'm still trying to get the point he's trying to make.
