A 7-year-old Wichita, Kan., boy on a zoo outing was mauled on the head and neck by a leopard after the first-grader climbed a railing separating the cage from the public, according to local news reports. The boy was hospitalized in fair condition.

Adults must really keep an eye on this age group because they can get away from you before you know it. I sincerely hope that the leopard is not blamed for this and put down because the boy trespassed into the leopard's home and not the other way around.

Can't blame the leopard if prey just climbs on in. Hopefully, this kid will learn a valuable lesson about obeying rules, I just hope the leopard isn't punished for it.

I just watched a documentary on the Amur leopard a couple of weeks ago, beautiful creatures, and as you said, almost extinct.
