Wow. This is unusual. Ed Schultz does something you rarely see, criticize someone from his own network. Ed brings in Markos Moulitsas to respond to Chris Matthews insult of the netroots yesterday where he said we're not real Democrats and back-seat bitchers. John offered to debate Matthews yesterday. I wonder if we'll hear anything else from him on this now that Schultz had Moulitsas on. If Matthews wants to lob insults, I'd like to see him try to debate those he was insulting to their faces. I'm not holding my breath though. Good on Ed for giving Markos a chance to respond.

I no longer watch Keith Matthews because he either talks from the side of his mouth or he's losing his mind!
Thanks Ed for Giving Markos Moulitsas the opportunity to respond.
I have to side with Matthew's on this one. Many people calling themselves Democrats politician's to do their bidding without raising a hand to support them.
Ed is an advocate, he pushes and pushes and pushes people to see his viewpoint and follow his ideals. He is not a back seat Democrat, he's an in your face Liberal Democrat and proud of it. He stands behind what he advocates...
The thing Matthews pointed out, I wholly agree with, people complain about the politics's and don't bother to raise a hand to provide support on the issues. This is the back seat Democrat Matthew's is referencing - people that don't walk the walk and get off their butts and get out there and give politician's their support by marching on Washington or even their local congressional rep's office. They talk smack about nothing getting done, and do very little if anything other than complain about things not getting done.
This is a participatory republic. People need to step up and take responsibility for political decisions before they're made, not sit back and bitch about it once they made into law.
I posted earlier on another Newsvine article with these very points.

I think both Ed and Chris talk too much and don't let their guests answer their questions. It is hard for me to listen to Ed's disdain for anyone who doesn't feel as strongly as he does. There is a need for moderation and compromise that Ed doesn't seem to understand at all.
MSNBC is in danger of losing me to CNN. The republican guy who foams at the mouth over global warming (Pat something?) is bugging me a lot too, and even Keith and Rachel seem to have gone over to the fringes. With "friends" like them why does Obama need enemies?
There has been a lot of frustration over the public option being made into something more important than it is. Maybe after the holidays the far left will calm down and remember what it was like when Cheney was in charge.

PANeal, I have to agree with you on both accounts. Ed and Chris both talk over their guests. However, I'm glad Schultz gave Moulitsas a platform to address Matthews complaints.
