In a speech last week, President Obama presented a new plan to put Americans back to work. At the same time, the President had some choice words for the Republicans, whose policies created this mess to begin with -- and are now hypocritically attack Democrats who are working to solve it.

It's clear that Republicans in Congress still don't get it. Last week, House Republicans voted to let Wall Street continue the same risky practices that crippled retirement accounts and left taxpayers on the hook for $700 billion dollars -- and voted to allow the big banks to pay high rolling executives unchecked compensation and bonuses.

Everytime this Turd starts to go down in the polls, he starts up with the , " I inherited " crutch. Even Notice ? Hey nutsy, that don't fly anymore. You've been in for a year, and things have gotten worse. You've spent more and will have by the end of 2010 than every president combined from George Washington , till the present. And guess what ? We've been privvy to all these tricks for years. We know you could care less for the Poor and uninsured. The Clinton's tried that dodge as well. We know you wan't to be the first White House squatter to pass a Health Care plan, no matter what the consequence. You love Rose Garden photo-ops. You and all the Politicos in Washington today , care little for the " Will of the People " You tossed aside your " Oath of Office " five seconds after you left the podium as did they. So, for once in your life, tell the truth. You only want the Spotlight once again. Maybe, telling the truth isn't listed in the Koran, but you claim to be a Christian. You're a Communist and Hell-Bent on making America a 3rd World Country dependent on asking you for a handout. You are a figment of Soros' imagination , and neither of you ever expected to make it to the Presidency. ( As far as I'm concerned, you still haven't ) You both figured you'd lose, and then the country would split apart with riots and shootings as the cry of Descrimination settled over the land. But wonders of wonders, there were enough lame-brained in the country to go along with the 98% Negro vote, to put into our White House, the biggest farce since Global Warming . You want Healh Care to be your legacy. Your legacy will set back Negro advance for the next century. You'll never see another Negro in the White House after your performance. Go back to Kenya, and take Pelosi and Reid with you. Birds of a Feather" and all that.

Tomas says...

You've been in for a year, and things have gotten worse.

So, by this logic, Reagan must have been as bad, right Tomas? His recession started about nine months after he took office (rather than thirteen months before).

Your racist comments also take from your talking points.

He will wear out this message pretty soon. By November 2011 the voters will answer the question of 'Who's at fault.'

Obama better win the Afghanistan War. Americans don't like to lose. If he turns the country over to the Taliban, Obama is finished as Commander-in-Chief. He'll look like Jimmy Carter. He needs to turn the economy around. That could be his savior. If he doesn't, the Democratic Party will turn on him. The media won't give him the pass he enjoys now.

Percentages wont matter if the economy doesnt improve much and if Afg doesnt go well he is finished as pres he will be compared to Carter whether he deserves it or not. By 2010-2011 if the economy isnt sharply better and if Afg doesnt go well he will be held responsible when peole vote. I do believe tho the economy will be improving by then maybe not quickly but we will see good improvements by then(at least I hope so) but Afg no way he can be pulling out troops in 2011 too soon I beleive but time will tell. As far as the deficit goes once again it wont matter to the people who created what he is the one that ran on Change we can believe in and if he doesnt or cant show a good plan to help pay off the debt it will be his to take the blame.

After years of unfunded give-aways to the wealthy that have resulted in the outsourcing of the American economy, after "bring 'em on" wars that did nothing but ruin our standing in the world and bankrupt us I am glad to see our President focus on energy, education, infrastructure. These INVESTMENTS will make life better for our children despite what I hear from the braying tea-baggers.

Change has obviously come. And the nearer the goal the stiffer the headwinds. So be it.

Obama is setting up a bed to fall on if the economy slides into depression. Continuing to blame others will only work for another year.

Jobs and the economy will eclipse the value of the healthcare bill. Obama's luster is changing color. The Democratic Party has both houses right now. Obama better seize the moment because in 2010 voters might say we've seen enough.

The longer Obama cries, the better for Sarah Palin. People want a leader not a winer.

Palin is a quitter and a whiner. All she has done is blame others. One difference is that everything she blamed on others was her own fault. (And she's not too bright either.)

Actually, he is seizing the moment. And doing all he can to address the FUNDAMENTAL issues of our problems. Skyrocketing health costs must be brought under control. Incentives must me made to keep industry and innovation in the US. Education must be overhauled. Comman sense regulation must be imposed on the out of control risk-taking of our financial institutions and a way found to let them fail without bringing down our economic system. The cost of doing this will pay dividends. Doing nothing will accelerate the demise of America.

Truth is, all of this should be self evident. It should have been addressed much earlier. We've seen this coming for some time. No one has had the guts to face these issues head on until now.

I don't see Sarah Palin being the solution to any of these problems, but, hey - that's just me.

I'm proud of this of this President.

Everything Bush Senior and Bush Jr. did was for themselves and their buddies.

Clinton sent our jobs overseas with his NAFTA program.

Ford, I can't remember anything about him.

Reagan did nothing but act during his first term and during his second term he was brain dead from dementia so we don't know who was running the country.

I believe Nixon had the potential but was power mad and destroyed himself.

Johnson and Carter did some things I liked.

Kennedy, I can't remember anything he did that left an impression on me.

Yes, change has come and in a good way.

I agree Power...I know people get upset with President Obama because he hasn't waved his magic wand and fixed everything that was broken in this country...but he's working hard on the problems and doing everything he can.

We have three branches of government in this country for a reason...so there are checks and balances and one man, or one branch, doesn't have unilateral power to change things quickly. That is a disadvantage when you are trying to fix problems but it is a reality that the President, and we, have to deal with.

I am also proud of this president and the change he has already effected...and hopeful for the change that will continue to come.

        I am ashamed our president.

I am embarrassed by Obama's actions

I am embarrassed that we as a nation were taken in by such a con artist as Obama

I am embarrassed by our president and first lady as their lack of grace is so apparent

I am embarrassed that Obama tried to buy the Olympics with his perceived popularity

I am terrified that Obama will pass a terribly flawed Health Insurance reform just so HE will be remembered for something and not for the good of the people

I am terrified that Obama will spend us to a point that we can not recover

The Obamas are a national disgrace.

That hopey-changy thing is just not working for me

I agree 100%. This president only knows what others have told him. He is low class (gave I Pod as a gift to the Queen of England) and arrogant. Everything always has to be about him when he speaks. I actually think he hates Americans and is purposely trying to wreck our economic system with his social welfare bills. We would be much better off if we did not have a president at all, seeing that the economy is recovering without any help from him and his liberal buddies.

My gosh, Reagan did nothing. You are a Democrat.

Reagan stood up to the communists. The Berlin War came tumbling down with his help.

Nixon ended the Viet Nam war that Kennedy and Johnson escalated. Kennedy was a good leader when faced with a very dangerous nuclear threat from the Soviets in the Cuban missile crisis.

Most if not all of the modern presidents had highs and lows. War is difficult no matter who is in power. Obama is faced with a nightmare in Afghanistan. He shot his mouth off about the need to save Afghanistan in campaign speeches. Now he has to back up the rhetoric.

If he cuts and runs in Afghanistan, this will be written in the history books. Health care insurance is all Obama. Americans will find out how expensive this plan is after he's out of office. Sticker shock will bring down the Democratic Party. If health care is run by the government, Americans won't be asking for an oncore.

        The Reagan myth again.

What's false about his statements, please be specific and hold off on any slanderous remarks. When Regan died, the whole world paused, even his enemies came to the US to show their respect. I do not recall this happening with Senator Kennedy. Instead Liberals just tried to spin the news of his death as a method to rush a healthcare bill through congress.

Sometimes it takes a Carter to get a Reagan - both Obama and Carter were elected into office at a time when voters were hungry for change.

Carter like Obama, resisted attempts to define the details of what change would mean, so everyone could project their own dreams and aspirations. As time progressed, the American people came to understand that the blank slate was REALLY blank.

Obama will be the Carter that smoothes the way for the next Ronald Reagan.
