There are far too many dirty politicians in Congress and the House of Representatives!

These politicians knew all along what they were doing was illegal but they kept doing it anyway.

Every politician who's a member of C-Street and every politician who lived at C-Street must be voted out of office!

These liars and thieves and deceivers are not worthy of our trust or our support at the polls.

If we truly want change we must vote them out of office!

To take it a step further we must raise our voices and demand term limits in all areas of politics because no politician should be given the opportunity to become a bad seed on our watch!

And no politician should be allowed to make a career of being a single office politician!

And what's up with the D.C. politicians choosing to turn a blind eye to C-Street's shenanigans! Were they getting a kick back for choosing to ignore what they knew was going on?

Many of our problems stem from us voters putting our trust into the untrustworthy. We vote these charlatans into office and consider our job done when it's only just begun.

To keep our politicians honest we must keep our feet on their necks!

We must keep a watchful eye on everything they do in our names. Yes in our names because they say, "we'll only doing what our constituents want us to do."

Well we all know that's a lie, don't we.

Well I am sick and tired of the lying, the cheating, the stealing, the deceiving, and the spending of my hard earned dollars to screw me by doing things that has nothing to do with me and my fellow taxpayers.

Yes, C-Street has lost its tax exemption status, at least 60% of it I believe was reported, but I won't be satisfied until all the C-Street Gang is out of office.

Nice seeding, Religious organazation that use their pulpit for political reasons are doing a diservice to it's congregation. Giving them what they did not come to worship for, and more-so, this is a violation of the pact that gives the church it's tax exception. If they don't believe in the separation of Church and state and want to become a political organization then they should pay the taxes to support it.

If they don't want to abide by this pact then they should loose the exception.

I for one don't want a bunch of Religious fanatics bent on subversion. Or any politician who holds to any self fulfilling prophesy that in order to bring Christ to earth lead the world to the brink of distruction.

Insanity has a few distinct tells. Self destructive behavior or the intent of being harmful to others not the least of these.

"I have never dreamed that all opposition was to cease. The clergy, who have missed their union with the State, the Anglomen, who have missed their union with England, and the political adventurers, who have lost the chance of swindling and plunder in the waste of public money, will never cease to bawl on the breaking up of their sanctuary." --Thomas Jefferson to Gideon Granger, 1801

    Rachel rocks!

It's about time C-Street's activities were brought out in the open. This is going to open the doors for many investigations. Both dems and repugs need to watch out. Secret society. Humbug!

I read it and was amazed at what some our politicians are doing. What got me is the reason C-Street was form and that is to recruit the wealthiest leaders of the World to take over civilization as we know it to force us to conform to what they believe is God's will.

The Family by Jeff Sharlett is a great read and an eye-opener!

Reading The Family is just the start, Stacey.

Another book you might want to read is

The Dirty Dozen: How Twelve Supreme Court Cases Radically Expanded Government and Eroded Freedom by Robert A. Levy & William Mellor.

Here's what is on the cover's flaps:

"We have created a system in which nine people are presumed to be smarter than three hundred million. The Dirty Dozen shows us the results of this foolish assumption--the twelve worst Supreme Court rulings. Or, that is to say, the twelve worst Supreme Court rulings so far."--P.J. O'Rourke

Alexander Hamilton wrote that "the judiciary, from the nature of its functions, will always be the least dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution." If only that were true.

The Founding Fathers wanted the judicial branch to serve as a check on the power of the legislative and executive, and gave the Supreme Court the responsibility of interpreting the Constitution in a way that would safeguard individual freedoms. In some cases, like Brown v. Board of Education and United States v. Lopez, the Court fulfilled its role, protecting us from racial discrimination and the heavy hand of the federal government.

But sadly, the Supreme Court has also handed down many destructive decisions in cases you probably never learned about in school. In The Dirty Dozen, two distinguished legal scholars shed light on the twelve worst cases, which allowed government to:

-interfere in your private contractual agreements

-curtail your right to criticize or support political candidates

-arrest and imprison you indefinitely, without filing charges

-seize and imprison you indefinitely, without filing charges

-seize your private property, without compensation, when someone uses the property for criminal activity--even if you don't know about it!

Let me know what you think about The Dirty Dozen if you get the chance to read it.

Running them out of congress is a nice start. Stripping 'c'street and its leadership of all 'church' related assets would be just dandy. Tarring and feathering would make me giddy.

The 'c'hristian right is a hostile fifth column to America.

I have no problem seeing 'c'street, its members, and its faith based bull@!$%# as treason, as traitors, acting outrageously, unconstitutional behavior beginning with their oaths of secrecy, meant to supplant the oaths taken by members of congress to defend this country and its constitution.

How dare they, how insane are these damn fools?

BelindaK, here's what's written on the back cover of the book.

They insist they are justa group of friends, yet they funnel millions of dollars through tax-free corporations. They claim to disdain politics, but congressmen of both parties describe them as the most influential religious organization in Washington. They say they are not Christians, but simply believers. Behind the scenes at every National Prayer Breakfast since 1953 has been the Family, en elite network dedicated to a religion of power for the powerful. Their goal is "Jesus plus nothing." Their method is backrooms diplomacy. The Family is the startling story of how their faith--part free-market fundamentalism, part imperial ambition--has come to be interwoven with the affairs of nations around the world. You'll recognize many of the members names:

SEN Sam Brownback - R. Kansas / REP Joe Pits - R. Pennsylvania

SEN Jim DeMint - R. South Carolina / SEN Pete Domenici, R. New Mexico

SEN James Inhofe - R. Oklahoma / SEN Chuck Grassley - R. Iowa

SEN Tom Cobur - R. Oklahoma / John Thune - R. South Dakota

SEN Mike Enzi - R, Wyoming / SEN John Ensign - R. Nevada

Bill Nelson, Florida, Democrat / Mark Pryor, Arkansas, Democrate

REP Frank Wolf - R. Virginia / REP Zach Wamp - R. Tennessee

REP Mike McIntyre - D. North Carolina who believes that the Ten Commandments are the fundamental legal code for the laws of the United States and thus ought to be on display in schools and courthouses.

Ronald Reagan publicly demurred in 1985 "I wish I could say more about it but it's working precisely because it is private." At the 1990 National Prayer Breakfast,

President George H.W. Bush praised Doug Coe for what he described as "quiet diplomacy, I wouldn't say secret diplomacy." Doug Coe is the leader of The Family.

Other guises, some active, some defunct that the Family has operated under: National Committee for Christian Leadership

International Christian Leadership National Leadership Council

the Fellowship Foundation the International Foundation

These people are scary and is what's wrong with our government.

I am not worried about the tax exemption as that is not the goal of a Christian life. You do not become a Christian over taxes.

      http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+22&version=NIV

      Matthew 22

      Paying Taxes to Caesar

15Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

18But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius, 20and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?"

      21"Caesar's," they replied.
Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

You have a good honest post. I am not really trying to win anybody over. Newsvine is a very liberal outpost and I am trying to add my viewpoint. I know my relationship with Christ and that is between me and him. I really do not like the religion of secular humanism being promoted over my religion. America is the land of equal religious opportunity and I would like my voice to be heard and not drowned out by secular humanists.

The article is about a religious group being held to pay for taxes. The Bible teaches us our faith is not to be concerned with that. There is a low level of Biblical literacy in today's society. This post is a good way of teaching that it is not an issue for a Christian if they are ordered to pay taxes or not. The issue is that you faith is larger than your life. America was built on Christian values and time has proved their success over the centuries. I do not want to discard what has been proven so effective.

I do agree with you when you say those who believe in faith is larger than then their lives, if only those who supposedly live in faith believed and following those beliefs.

I disagree with you when you say America was built on Christian values because it simply isn't true. Please go back and read the History of the foundling fathers.

No one here wants to be taught what you're trying to teach. This is not your lectern and we are not your parishioners.

Please write your own article and those interested will comment, thanks.

Dude, he's arguing the same point as you are. The part of the Bible he quoted is where Jesus claims people can pay taxes to their kings because God doesn't care about our money. Which when put in perspective makes sense, as other cults had been avoiding taxes for 1000 years at that point because it was against their teachings.

I disagree with you when you say America was built on Christian values because it simply isn't true.

Actually it was. That doesn't make us a Christian nation, it just means some of our founders were inspired by their religion. Keep in mind that values are different than the dogma or teachings of Christianity. The values could be argued as coming from Christianity or anywhere. As long as you can argue the validity of the law without using religious teaching it doesn't matter what inspired you to write it.

You're missing my point. The values we selected and put in our constitution are directly from Judeo-Christianity. As in, the founders had grown up with a certain set of values and they were reflected in the constitution. As I said, values and dogma are completely different things. We didn't, nor should we endorse the Bible as the rule of law, but they did argue many different values based on the "worldly" (secular) benefits/drawbacks to such laws being imposed and most certainly many of the laws that did and did not pass were directly from Christianity. The difference between what they did and what today's right wingers do is that today's right wingers want to argue religiously influenced laws based on nothing more than religious teachings. The founders would take a religious teaching, such as "thou shalt not kill" and decide what reasons (other than getting into heaven) did they have for making it law. Sometimes they went overboard, such as sodomy/gay/racial laws. They didn't scour the Bible looking for our laws, but they also did not refuse a law simply because the Bible teaches it.

"Christian values" may be a bit misleading. They were Christian values, but only because the founders were mostly Christian and not other religions. Always keep in mind that a value is different from a teaching. An Islamic value is to honor women; the TEACHING of that value sometimes ends up as the Bhurka. Does that make ANY sense?

I guess what all that means is when it comes down to it I don't care what inspired a guy to write a law. If Jesus told his followers "thou shalt tax thine citizens with a progressive income tax rate" I certainly wouldn't oppose it just because it was in the Bible.

But back to the article, the RULE there is clear, if you're a political organization like C-Street, you pay taxes.

I'm ok with the way unamerican liberal puts it. I agree with that most of the founders did not want preachers and religion to rule our law and country but... you can't deny that as by the great majority they came from some sort of "Christian" upbringing, steeped in it, and thus its also fair to say we are in a sense founded on Christian values.

I don't like saying it, I hate what the right wingers try and do with that, but I can't find a honest way around it. Which in no way puts me in agreement with the 'c'hristian right jackasses and church crazy fuhgnuts..

Its complicated and I dont' think anyone can just bam bam make it fit either all in or all out and its dishonest, imho, to try and do so, its unrealistic to do so, and as such, its a fail to try to do so.

No, I'm not missing your point, you are not as deep as you think, your point is without merit and unfounded. You are simply wrong.

"The law for religious freedom... has put down the aristocracy of the clergy and restored to the citizen the freedom of the mind." --Thomas Jefferson to John Adams, 1813

Indeed, Mr. Jefferson, what could be invented to debase the ancient Christianism which Greeks, Romans, Hebrews and Christian factions, above all the Catholics, have not fraudulently imposed upon the public? Miracles after miracles have rolled down in torrents.
-- John Adams, letter to Thomas Jefferson, December 3, 1813

Anything more you say to promote this notion is just more nonsense sir.

          But I'm sure you will.

Here is more poof... you can ignore thios as well but remeber that "Ignore" is the root of "Ignorance."

The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature; and if men are now sufficiently enlightened to disabuse themselves of artifice, imposture, hypocrisy, and superstition, they will consider this event as an era in their history. Although the detail of the formation of the American governments is at present little known or regarded either in Europe or in America, it may hereafter become an object of curiosity. It will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of Heaven, more than those at work upon ships or houses, or laboring in merchandise or agriculture; it will forever be acknowledged that these governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses.
-- John Adams, "A Defence of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America" (1787-88)

America is based on natural common sense princaiples, not the Bible or Christianity . Good Night.
