Whether or not this cures cancer it wouldn't hurt to add Asparagus to our diets.

Slightly misleading title. Since
The periodical in which it was allegedly published, the Cancer News Journal, no longer exists but apparently devoted itself to "alternative" cancer therapies. An article with the identical title ("Asparagus for Cancer") and similar if not identical content appeared under the byline "Karl Lutz" in the February 1974 edition of Prevention magazine.
In any case, contrary to the impression given above there are no peer-reviewed medical studies proving that eating asparagus alone "prevents" or "cures" cancer.

There's rarely peer-reviewed medical studies for alternative therapies yet some alternative therapies work.
This is encouraging since asparagus is literally the only green vegetable that I like.

There is good evidence to strongly suggest that vegetarians have a lower rate of cancer risk and that even omnivores who consume much more than average amounts of fruits and vegetables have lower cancer risk. This includes studies of Seventh Day Adventists who espouse being vegetarians. so perhaps fruit and veggies are blocking the cancer causing substances in meats.

Excellent question and the answer is essentially unknown as far as clear-cut proof goes, but that is why I don't eat red meat unless it is strictly grass fed (which is available at two locations within 100 miles of where I live. Non-chemical chicken is also becoming more readily available.
Just received an email regarding the effacy of aspargus, because of the histones and gluthaions (ug! spelled wrong) is good for any cancer...but what I'm interested in is WHERE do you find grassfed beef and also non-chemical chicken? I live in Phoenix bu would gladly go online for it....thanks

Perdue and another mfg., whose name escapes me at the moment, label their poultry no hormones added.
In general the medical community will never give credit to alternative nutritional therapy for cancer cure because they will lose money. The pharmaceutic giants will do anything to prevent natural products from becoming a valid way to prevent or cure diseases. The money they would lose is astrononomical. They would rather promote drugs that will leave you with other side effects causing you to buy more drugs to deal with the new symptoms, Read Natural Cures by Kevin Trudeau, it will shock you.
Well, I happen to love asparagus so it's no hardship to eat it. It's just rather expensive. Wonder why it has to be pureed, can't I just stuff it down like the rest of my food.
It's nothing weird and can't do any harm that I can see. I had cancer of the larynx and it was removed almost 9 years ago. So far so good, thank God and some great doctors.
So think I'll stock up on asparagus, as it's been said, can't hurt none.
