Charles is a volunteer from Boulder, CO who won a raffle to meet Barack at the rally in Denver on 10/26/08. I really believe you'll enjoy this one.

I would like to meet Charles.
It's easy. I believe there are people just like him in many of our communities, I've met a couple. It makes me feel really sad for the people who are content staying cooped up in their homes their whole lives and never want to go anywhere or meet new people.

Someone else sent me this and I loved this man. He was married 69 years -deserves a medal for that in itself, and such thoughtful comments with an amazing life as perspective.
That was one of a few of those amazing stories that I've seen here recently about Obama, like the other story about the Norwegian woman at the airport. Part of me wonders: Do these sort of neat co-incidence type stories happen on campaigns all the time, or is Obama's campaign really that much more special?
Very nice video, PiK, Charles has a wonderful story to tell. My wife hates politics and she even got a kick out of it.

This is my first election volunteering, so I don't have a point of reference. But I can tell you that our local field office is the most bare bones place you could see. But the feeling of family there is amazing. There are some great kids running these offices and people of all ages donating their time.
If you want to do something cool, bake a lasagna or a pot of stew and take it down to those that are working seriously every day 14 hours a day or more to get our country back.

When you have hope, you don't need a whole lot else. (It does help when your candidate is winning though..)
